NANAY Dedicates Building

 Miami, Florida ? Dec 2002

On Thanksgiving Day 2002, NANAY aptly dedicated its Asian Pacific  American Community Center to the two individuals who paved the way for acquisition of the building that now houses most of  NANAY?s supportive services and  programs for elders and youth.

It was three years ago, in October 1999,  when John Gaudiosi Esq., a retired judge, and Ric Garcia, a business entrepreneur, formed a partnership known as 659 Group that purchased a two-story building on 659 NE 125 Street in downtown North Miami, so that NANAY could have a place to hold its services. One year later, 659 Group was merged with NANAY, which then assumed ownership and mortgage of the building.

?We could not have done it without these two generous gentlemen who have been our long-time supporters,? says Bennie Trinidad, NANAY?s  Regional Executive Director. ?They are heaven-sent.?

Joy Bruce, NANAY?s Founding President and CEO, presented the awards to the two benefactors, and officially proclaimed the site as Gaudiosi-Garcia Building.

Ernesto Ramos, senior aide to Congresswoman Carrie Meek, also presented  each of them with a Congressional Citation for their significant contribution to the community.

The awarding and dedication ceremony was held at the NANAY Center, following the annual Winternational Festival and Parade, and was attended by more than 80 elders and youth.
