NANAY Partners with DINGGIN for A Musical Revue: "All About Love"

NANAY proudly announces its partnership with DINGGIN, and promises to delight the crowd with an
intergenerational musical extravaganza entitled "All For Love", to be shown at the North Miami Beach Performing Arts on Friday, March 1, 2002.

NANAY, Inc.
(National Alliance for Nurture the Aged and the Youth), is a non-profit grassroots organization that provides supportive services to youth and elders 60 years and older. Established in 1994, NANAY now has a Community Center in North Miami that provides recreation, health, education, arts and crafts, computer classes, caregiver support and transport services to elders, as well as intergenerational programs that link youth with the elders through intercultural activities.

DINGGIN is a choral group that promotes cultural appreciation and spiritual enlightenment through music. Because of its generous music ministry, DINGGIN is now well known in the Archdiocese of Miami, and is also a household name, especially in the Filipino- American homes.

The show is meant to entertain and inspire the audience with intergenerational musical numbers that are artistically blended together, enhanced by costumes and choreography, and presented by a talented cast. The selections range from theatrical/broadway to popular and contemporary music. A dance in festive choreography will open the show, followed by a mesmerizing duet between a doll and a clown, and then, by a romantic piano composition. The last part of the program will showcase popular love songs, ending with an inspirational song performed in grand, chorale style.

DAYAW Singers will also be performing in the show. This choral group was part of the original Himig Singers who won numerous awards including Grand Prize, Special Award from the city of Vienna; First Prize, Mixed Choir Category, 26th International Youth and Music Festival, Vienna, Austria, First Prize, Polyphonic Category and Fourth Prize, Folkloric Category, XV International Music Festival, Cantonigros, Spain.

WHO'S WHO IN THE SHOW

Jason Lyzniac, an eleven-year old sixth grader from Miami Lakes, is a member of the Community Theatre of Hialeah/Miami Lakes (Main Street Players ). He has won a Sabrina Award for his acting performance in the " The Wizard of Oz" , First Place and Special Talent awards for his monologue at the Miami -Dade County Fair and Exposition Drama Competition, and another Sabrina Award for playing Prince Ying

Yaowlak, in "The King and I", currently joined the cast for a local production of "Oliver" winning the role of " The Artful Dodger".

Jacqueline Schuck is a member of the Ballet Etudes Junior Ensemble. She has appeared in several performances of The Nutcracker, and played the leading role in the musical, "Annie". She is currently an active member of The Community Theatre of Miami Lakes and will be performing in a March 2002 production of "Oliver".

Melissa Perez has won First Place in the Category of First Year College Women in the 2001 National Association of Teachers in Singing (NATS) Competition. Currently attending New World School of the Arts College Music Program and studying privately with Oscar Diaz, Jr., she has sung in many scenes and ensembles including the role of "Gilda" in the Opera Scene concert section of "Rigoletto".

Rehina Chavez - has been playing the piano since the age of two and started making her own compositions at the age of four. At five, she was featured in the Art section of the Miami Herald as a "Child Prodigy" in music. Star Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts, where she is currently enrolled as a junior, awarded her as the " Rookie of the Year in Piano " for the year 2000 and as the "Most Outstanding Sophomore Female Vocalist" for the year 2001. She also won the State Champion Award in the 2000 Florida Federation of Music Clubs.

Tessie Santos - joined the Filipiniana Dance Troupe during her freshmen year at the University of the Philippines. She held the position of Assistant Director for Academic and Student Affairs of Hagonoy Institute in the Philippines and currently teaches at St. Rose of Lima School in Miami Shores.

G. Kay McGill received her dance instructions from Indiana University School of Music, Arthur Mitchell's Dance Theatre of Harlem, N.Y., Chuck Davis Dance Company, and Iris Rosa's Afro American Dance Company. She is the Dance Ministry Director of Miami's New Life International Church , founder -Director of Daughters of Zion Liturgical Dance Ministry, and a member of the Performing Arts Network in Miami Beach.

Bles Chavez is executive director of the upcoming musical revue, "All for Love" . She started performing on stage at the age of nine. She has sung in opera concert choruses and was a featured soloist by the PanAmerican Society of Artists, singing famous arias by Mozart and Bellini. She directed the Cultural Performance as part of the First Multicultural Symposium held in June, 2001 at the NANAY Center. She is also the Assistant Musical Director of DINGGIN. She continues her vocal training under the direction of Oscar Diaz, Jr., Executive Director of Performer's Music Institute.
