NANAY SOUTH
ACTIVITIES Miami, Florida - The NANAY South
Center re-opened on March 13, 2004 in partnership with Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church
(112th Street/142nd Avenue) and offers comprehensive services for elders
EVERY SATURDAY from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Music Room of
the school building. Named the "Golden Agers Project,"
medical clinic is provided every other Saturday (March 20, April 3, 17, etc.) in addition
to regular activities such as workshops/seminars, exercises, singing, dancing, arts and
crafts, counseling and intergenerational activities. Dr. Adoracion Estanislao is the
Chairperson of the NANAY South Center and Dr. Rose Marie del Rosario, Program Director of

NANAY INTERGENERATIONAL "LUAU" AND PARENT APPRECIATION
NIGHT on Saturday, April 17, 2004 at St. James Catholic Church Parish Hall in North
Miami (132nd Street/6th Street) from 6:00 p.m. til midnight. Event is co-sponsored by the
NANAY Youth Council and the Council of Elders which allows youth and elders to work
together and enjoy the evening. $25.00 per person/tickets available now at NANAY. Event
is open to the public and includes an intergenerational performance of interpretive
Hawaiian hula dances, a hefty "luau" dinner, honoring and serenading of parents,
performance by a professional Polynesian dance troupe, and dancing/networking. Modest
proceeds will benefit the NANAY Intergenerational Program. To reserve your tickets or

THE FIRST POLYNESIAN CULTURAL FESTIVAL on Saturday, March 27, 2004 at Easterlin
Park, W. Commercial Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Polynesian
performers from southeastern U.S. are coming down to join the festivities. Food and
exhibit booths, educational and fun activities, children's corner and day-long series of
performances promise to provide everyone a magnificent time. Bring the whole family!
NANAY Youth and Elders will perform in the early afternoon and the NANAY Youth Council
will handle all "children's corner" activities during the day (includes face painting and
modern hula dance instruction).
