NANAY Honors Father on Mother's Day
Miami, Florida - May 10, 2005;
On
Mother's Day, close to 250 guests celebrated with NANAY at
Miami's new Parrot Jungle Island ballroom.
This year's Mothers of the Year Awards were given to Nancy
Erickson, Paulina Trompeta Lagora, Cresencia Rudio, Consuelo Tablada,
Nieva Cacayan, Amy del Mundo, Cleofe Dingcong and Heidi Wong for
their love and devotion to family.

Included in this year's list of honorees were two fathers: John
Gaudiosi and Matthew Recabo.
Special mention was given to John
Gaudiosi, a retired Broward County Judge and
practicing attorney. "John is the father of NANAY,"
said Dr. Joy Bruce, NANAY's Founding President and CEO. "Without
him we would not be here. His support for NANAY enabled us to grow
into the organization we are today. Just
as a father provides a home to his family,
John has provided a home for NANAY ".
John Gaudiosi, with Ricardo Garcia, purchased the building where
NANAY is housed today. The building is the center of all activities
and provides a home for the organization.
Special awards were also given to the NANAY Advisory Board for
extraordinary achievement, Dada Dequito as NANAY Employee of the
Year, and Techie Dalmacio as Volunteer of the Year.

NANAY is an organization that by definition celebrates mothers every
day of the year. The Filipino word for "mother", N A N A Y is
also an acronym that stands for National Alliance to Nurture the
Aged and the Youth. Their gathering on Mother's Day has become a
tradition in the community.
N A N A Y, Inc. is a charitable organization made up of individuals
who are committed to providing social, health and emotional support
for youth and elders over 60 years of age. Its major goal is to
assist, support and promote the welfare and well-being of youth and
elders in the community, irrespective of race, sex or creed. To
accomplish its mission, the organization raises funds through
grants, public, and private support, within the provisions specified
under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
It was founded in November 1994 in honor of Jacinta Holgado Bruce,
who had made a lifetime commitment of helping the needy.
