SUPER BOWL FEST BRINGS LIFE TO NORTH MIAMI

 Miami, FL - Feb 26, 2007

Sister Sledge certainly brought life to the Super Bowl FEST that was hosted by NANAY and the City of North Miami on February 3, 2007. The concert was held at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) grounds in North Miami, opening with a trumpet rendition of the national anthem, followed by a heart-pounding performance by the Ronin Taiko Japanese Drummers.

BeBe Winans, a four-time Grammy Award winner,   also performed at the concert, along with Malyrie (a recording artist from Boston), K-Dean and her band (Jamaican band from Atlanta), and local performers such as The Branches, Lees Day Band, Kayla San Martin and Tama Leao?s Polynesian Dancers.

Sister Sledge and her Band entertained the audience with a whole hour of musical performance and the cheering crowd joined them in singing their popular ?WE ARE FAMILY? song.

?The Super Bowl Fest marks the launching of our WE ARE FAMILY project, ? says Bob Goodwin, President of the Points of Light Foundation, who stressed the importance of continuing to support families displaced or otherwise affected by devastating hurricanes and reaching out as a global family to address social problems, through the sale of WE ARE Family CD?s.

North Miami City Mayor Kevin Burns presented Sister Sledge and Bob Goodwin with a Key to the City, as a sign of appreciation for their contribution to the community.

The event sponsors (QBIS Group, Bank Atlantic, Magic Johnson Foundation, Vista Health Plans, North Miami CRA and Biscayne Landing) congratulated NANAY and the City of North Miami for hosting the Super Bowl Fest, and re-affirmed their commitment to serving the community through collaboration and partnership.
